Chinatown Sonnets is a poetry chapbook by Dorothy Chan, published by New Delta Review in 2017.

Dorothy Chan’s electric poems about growing up in a Chinese-American family were chosen by a jury as the winner of New Delta Review‘s 2016 poetry competition, and published as a chapbook in 2017. Chan had a clear idea of what she was picturing for cover art—intensely bright colors drawing on the neon signage of Chinatown and a cheeky maneki-neko cat. The cover gives a peek at the poems inside—a lovely balance of playfulness and order. The interior layout features clean pages with plenty of white space and overlapping headers that evoke the city’s crowded places and intersecting streets.
